Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

The SPB1250/3 is a 3-groove SPB taper lock pulley with a 1250mm pitch diameter. It runs SPB wedge belts and B (17mm) classical V-belts.
It takes a 4040 taper lock bush, which takes shafts from 40mm to 100mm in standard metric bores. The bush is sold separately: choose a 4040 bush in your shaft size and the pulley can be fitted and removed without machining.
It’s made from cast iron (EN-GJL-200) with grooves to ISO 4183 and DIN 2211, black phosphated against corrosion, and statically balanced for belt speeds up to 35m/s.

Check it’s the right pulley
- The old pulley should be marked SPB1250/3 or SPB 1250 x 3, and the bush 4040.
- Measure across the outside of the rim: about 1257mm. The pitch diameter is smaller because it’s measured where the belt sits in the groove.
- Check your belts are SPB (or the matching classical section) and you need 3 grooves.
