Supertorque timing belts
Supertorque (STD) timing belts use a modified round tooth that carries more torque, runs more quietly and positions more accurately than standard HTD belts. Choose a pitch, or search by the code on your old belt, such as S8M-1200-30.
Choosing the right supertorque timing belt
Three things decide which Supertorque belt you need: the pitch, the length and the width.
- Reading the codeA code like S8M-1200-30 is an 8mm pitch Supertorque belt with a 1200mm pitch length and a 30mm width. The S marks the profile.
- Supertorque or HTD?Supertorque and HTD belts share the same pitches but not the same tooth shape. Supertorque belts need S-profile pulleys, so replace like for like.
- Why Supertorque? The tooth shape spreads the load better, so the belt carries more torque, has less backlash and runs more quietly. Ideal for positioning and high-torque drives.
S2M · 2mm pitch
The smallest Supertorque pitch, for small automation and instruments.
S3M · 3mm pitch
Office machines, small power tools and light automation.
S5M · 5mm pitch
Power tools, appliances, packaging machines and light conveyors.
S8M · 8mm pitch
The most common Supertorque pitch, for industrial machinery and machine tools.
S14M · 14mm pitch
Heavy industrial and high-torque drives.
Double sided
Supertorque teeth on both faces, for serpentine and reversing drives.
Metric HTD
Standard round-tooth metric belts in the same pitches.
Polyurethane
Steel-corded PU belts for precise positioning and conveying.
