Optibelt VARIO POWER

Premium variable speed belts · Raw-edge, moulded cogs · From our premier brand

Optibelt VARIO POWER belts are premium variable speed belts from Optibelt, our premier brand. Their raw-edge construction and moulded cogs let them run on variable speed pulleys, where the flanges move in and out to change the speed of the drive, with accurate speed control, high power transmission and long life. They’re used on industrial variators, machine tools, conveyors, textile, woodworking and packaging machinery, and agricultural machinery such as combine harvesters. Search by the code on the old belt, and use the filters to narrow it down by size.

  • Wide sectionGives a wide speed range as the pulleys open and close
  • Moulded cogsBends easily round small variator pulley diameters and runs cooler
  • Raw-edge sidesGrip the pulley flanges firmly for accurate, stable speed control
  • Industrial & farm dutyFor machine tools, conveyors and combine variators

Choosing a variable speed belt

Reading the sizeVARIO POWER sizes are typically shown as top width x height x length, such as 28 x 8 x 1000, in millimetres. The side angle must also match the drive, so use the code on the old belt if you can.

No code?Measure the top width and the thickness, and the length round the outside of the belt. Tell us the make and model of the machine, as variator belts are often specific to it.

Look after the variatorA worn or sticking variator pulley will ruin a new belt quickly. Check the moving flange slides freely and the belt faces are smooth before fitting.

Tip: never fit a standard V-belt on a variable speed drive. It’s too narrow for the variator pulleys and will give the wrong speed range and wear quickly.
