Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

The Megadyne PV 6PK650 is a PK-profile ribbed (Poly-V) belt with 6 ribs at a 3.56mm rib pitch, an effective length of 650mm (25.6″) and an overall width of about 21.4mm.
This is Megadyne’s EPDM Helicord version of the PV ribbed belt. The EPDM rubber compound stands up to heat and ageing better than conventional rubber, for a longer service life, and the Helicord tension cord keeps the belt’s length stable under load. Like all Megadyne PV belts, it flexes around small pulleys and runs quietly with low vibration.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked 6PK650 (or 6 PK 650, or 6K650). 6 is the number of ribs, PK the profile and 650 the effective length in mm.
- Count the ribs across the underside of the old belt: this one has 6.
- Check the rib pitch: PK ribs are 3.56mm apart. A belt with the wrong profile won’t seat in the pulley grooves.
