Banded multi-V belts
Optibelt Kraftband banded belts join two or more V-belts with a tough top band, so they work as one unit and can’t turn over, whip or jump off. Choose the number of bands, or search by the code on your old belt, such as 3/SPB 2500.
Choosing the right banded belt
Three things decide which banded belt you need: the number of bands, the section and the length.
- Reading the codeCodes give the number of bands, the section and the length. 3/SPB 2500 is three SPB belts joined, each with a 2500mm datum length.
- Matching the pulleysThe pulley needs at least as many grooves as there are bands. On wider pulleys, you can run more than one banded belt side by side.
- When to use bandedIf single belts keep turning over or jumping off on a heavy or long drive, a banded belt is often the answer.
2 to 4 bands
For compressors, pumps, fans and agricultural machinery.
5 to 6 bands
For larger fans, crushers and industrial plant.
8 to 12 bands
For the heaviest, highest-power drives.
