Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

Polyurethane timing belts have a wear-resistant thermoplastic polyurethane body with steel tension cords, so they hold their length, keep exact timing with no slip, need no lubrication and resist oil, grease and abrasion.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked AT5-720-25 (or AT5 720 25). 720 is the pitch length in mm and 25 the width in mm.
- If the marking has worn off, count the teeth: this belt has 144. Multiply by 5mm to get the pitch length.
- AT5 belts have a larger, stronger tooth than T5 and need AT5 pulleys; they won’t run on T5 pulleys.
