Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.

The Megadyne Isoran 576 MXL 025 is an MXL-profile imperial timing belt with a 2.032mm tooth pitch, a 5.76″ (146.3mm) pitch length, 72 teeth and a width of 1/4″ (6.3mm).
Megadyne Isoran imperial timing belts are made of polychloroprene rubber with a fibreglass tension cord and nylon fabric on the teeth. They’re maintenance-free, keep exact timing with no slip, and run from −25°C to 80°C.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked 576 MXL 025. 576 is the pitch length in hundredths of an inch, MXL is the profile, and 025 is the width in hundredths of an inch.
- If the marking has worn off, count the teeth: this belt has 72.
- MXL is an imperial pitch. It looks similar to metric T2.5 or 2GT but won’t mesh properly, so check your pulleys are MXL.
