Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

BX98 / 2500 Optibelt Super TX V-Belt
The Optibelt Super TX BX98 is a BX section cogged raw-edge V-belt, 17mm wide with a 98″ (2500mm) inside length. It fits the same pulleys as a classical B section belt, and is made by Optibelt, our premier brand.
The cogs on the underside make Super TX belts far more flexible than a wrapped belt, so they run on much smaller pulleys, stay cooler and transmit more power. The raw-edge sides grip the pulley well and cut slip, which saves energy. They’re made to Optibelt’s M=S standard, so belts of the same size can be used together as a set without measuring and matching.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked BX98, often with the pitch length 2540. The letters are the section and the number is the inside length in inches. Measure 17mm across the top and 11mm deep.
- If the markings have worn off, wrap a piece of string round the inside of the belt, mark it and measure the string. It should come to about 2500mm.
- A Super TX BX98 can replace a wrapped B98 belt of the same length, and usually runs cooler and lasts longer. On multi-belt drives, change the whole set.
