Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

The Megadyne RPP 1440-RPP8-36 is a 8mm-pitch RPP timing belt with a 1440mm pitch length, 180 teeth and a width of 36mm. It runs on RPP and HTD 8M pulleys.
Megadyne Isoran RPP timing belts have a polychloroprene body, a fibreglass tension cord and nylon fabric on the teeth. The parabolic RPP tooth runs quietly and carries more load than a standard trapezoidal belt, and the belts are maintenance-free and need no lubrication.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked 1440-RPP8-36 (or 1440 RPP8 36). 1440 is the pitch length in mm and 36 the width in mm.
- If the marking has worn off, count the teeth: this belt has 180. Multiply by 8mm to get the pitch length.
