Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

A premium 8M kart drive belt from Optibelt, the German belt manufacturer and our premier brand. This Optibelt Omega HP (High Power) belt is 720 mm long and 33 mm wide, with 90 teeth, and suits karts that use a 720-8M-33 drive belt. It’s built for the hard starts and constant laps of rental karts.
Why the 33 mm width? It’s 3 mm wider than a standard 30 mm belt, so there’s 10% more belt width and tooth contact sharing the load, for more grip on the pulleys and a longer-lasting belt. The standard 30 mm version is also available.
Why Optibelt Omega HP?
- Up to 150% more performance. In Optibelt’s dynamic tests, Omega HP reached up to 150% higher performance than the standard Optibelt Omega belt, so it has plenty in reserve for a hard-worked kart drive.
- Long service life. Optibelt uses specially developed materials to make Omega HP last longer, which means fewer belt changes and less time off track.

Questions
How do I check it’s the right belt?
Read the code on the back of the old belt: it should be an 8M belt, 720 mm long, with 90 teeth. You can also count the teeth or measure round the outside of the belt.
Will a 33 mm belt fit my kart?
Only if the pulleys have room for the extra 3 mm of width, so the belt runs fully on the teeth without rubbing a flange or guard. If you’re unsure, call us.
8M or S8M?
8M belts have round teeth, and S8M belts have flatter-topped teeth. They look similar but aren’t interchangeable, so check the tooth shape on the old belt.
How quickly will it arrive?
