Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

1256-8MHP-50 Optibelt Omega HP (High Power) Timing Belt
The Optibelt Omega HP (High Power) 1256-8MHP-50 is a 8M timing belt with a 8mm pitch, a 1256mm pitch length, 157 teeth and a width of 50mm. It’s made by Optibelt, our premier brand.
Optibelt Omega High Power, still widely known and marked as Omega HP, delivers up to 150% more performance than standard Omega in Optibelt’s dynamic tests, so a narrower belt can often do the same job and last longer. The back is an aramid-reinforced polychloroprene compound, the teeth use a high-shear-strength rubber with a low-noise fabric facing, and the fibreglass tension cord is flexible with very low stretch. It runs at up to 98% efficiency from −30°C to +100°C, has limited oil resistance and is electrically conductive to ISO 9563. Typical uses include textile machines, machine tools, compressors, printing, woodworking and paper machines.
It runs on standard HTD and RPP pulleys in the 8M profile, so no special pulleys are needed.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked 1256 8MHP 50 on older belts, or 1256-8M-50 Omega High Power on newer ones. 1256 is the pitch length in mm, 8M the profile and 50 the width in mm.
- If the marking has worn off, count the teeth: this belt has 157. Multiply by 8mm to get the pitch length.
