Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

2000-RPP8 DD-20 Megadyne RPP Double-Sided Timing Belt
The Megadyne RPP 2000-RPP8 DD-20 is a double-sided 8mm-pitch RPP timing belt with a 2000mm pitch length, 250 teeth on each side and a width of 20mm. It runs on RPP and HTD 8M pulleys.
It has teeth on both sides, so it can drive pulleys from either face for serpentine and multi-shaft drives where shafts turn in opposite directions.
Megadyne Isoran RPP timing belts have a polychloroprene body, a fibreglass tension cord and nylon fabric on the teeth. The parabolic RPP tooth runs quietly and carries more load than a standard trapezoidal belt, and the belts are maintenance-free and need no lubrication.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked 2000-RPP8 DD-20 (or 2000 RPP8 DD 20); other brands call this D8M. 2000 is the pitch length in mm and 20 the width in mm.
- If the marking has worn off, count the teeth on one side: this belt has 250. Multiply by 8mm to get the pitch length.
