Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

The SPA300/4 is a 4-groove SPA pilot bore pulley with a 300mm pitch diameter. It runs SPA wedge belts and A (13mm) classical V-belts.
It has a pilot bore: a small starter hole that you, or your machine shop, bore out to your shaft size and cut a keyway in.
It’s made from cast iron (EN-GJL-200) with grooves to ISO 4183 and DIN 2211, black phosphated against corrosion, and statically balanced for belt speeds up to 35m/s.

Check it’s the right pulley
- The old pulley should be marked SPA300/4 or SPA 300 x 4.
- Measure across the outside of the rim: about 305.5mm. The pitch diameter is smaller because it’s measured where the belt sits in the groove.
- Check your belts are SPA (or the matching classical section) and you need 4 grooves.
