Polyurethane timing belts
Polyurethane timing belts have steel tension cords that don’t stretch, so they’re ideal for precise positioning, conveying and automation. They resist oil, grease and many chemicals. Choose a profile, or search by the code on your old belt, such as T5-500-16.
Choosing the right polyurethane timing belt
Three things decide which polyurethane belt you need: the profile, the length and the width.
- Reading the codeA code like T5-500-16 is a T5 belt, 500mm long and 16mm wide. Some makers write it as 16 T5/500.
- T or AT?AT belts have a bigger, stiffer tooth for more power and less backlash. T and AT belts need their own pulleys, so replace like for like.
- Endless or open length?Endless belts are made as a loop. Open-length belts are cut to length and clamped, for linear drives and conveyors.
T2.5 · 2.5mm pitch
The smallest PU pitch, for printers, instruments and small positioning drives.
T5 · 5mm pitch
The most common PU belt, for conveyors, packaging and automation.
T10 · 10mm pitch
Conveyors, packaging and food machinery, linear drives and automation.
AT5 · 5mm pitch
High-power, low-backlash belts for actuators, robotics and precise positioning.
AT10 · 10mm pitch
High-power belts for linear drives, heavy positioning and high-load conveyors.
Double sided
T teeth on both faces, for serpentine and reversing drives.
Pulleys
Matching timing pulleys for T-profile polyurethane belts.
Supertorque
Rubber timing belts with a high-torque S-profile tooth.
