Cogged classical V-belts
Cogged classical V-belts have notches moulded into the underside, so they bend easily round small pulleys, run cooler and grip better than a smooth belt of the same size. Choose a section, or search by the code on your old belt, such as AX68.
Choosing the right cogged belt
Cogged classical belts are sized the same way as smooth classical belts, and run in the same pulleys.
- Same pulleysA cogged belt runs in the same pulleys as its smooth equivalent, so an AX68 can usually replace an A68 directly.
- Why cogged? The cogs reduce bending stress and heat on small pulleys and high-speed motors, which can extend belt life and cut energy use.
- Classical or wedge?Cogged wedge belts such as XPZ and XPA look similar but are deeper for their width and run in wedge pulleys, so measure the depth.
ZX section
Cogged Z, for small motors and pumps and compact machine tools.
AX section
Cogged A, for motors, pumps, compressors, fans and garden equipment.
BX section
Cogged B, for larger motors, compressors, fans and AHUs.
CX section
Cogged C, for heavy-duty drives and agricultural machinery.
DX section
Cogged D, for the heaviest classical drives.
