Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

420 DL 30mm Optibelt ZR Double-Sided Timing Belt
The Optibelt ZR 420 DL 30mm is a double-sided L-pitch imperial timing belt with a 9.525mm tooth pitch, a 42″ (1066.8mm) pitch length, 112 teeth on each side and a width of 30mm. It’s made by Optibelt, our premier brand.
With teeth on both sides it can drive pulleys from either face, so one belt can turn shafts in opposite directions on serpentine and multi-shaft drives.
Optibelt ZR timing belts are made of chloroprene rubber with a glass-fibre tension cord and a hard-wearing nylon fabric on the teeth. They’re maintenance-free, keep exact timing with no slip, and have a degree of oil, heat and cold resistance as standard.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked 420 DL 30mm. 420 is the pitch length in tenths of an inch, DL is the profile, and the width is 30mm.
- If the marking has worn off, count the teeth on one side: this belt has 112.
- A double-sided belt has teeth on both faces. If yours is only toothed on one side, you need the single-sided L belt instead.
