Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

The Optibelt STD DS8M-1312-85 is a double-sided S8M timing belt with a 8mm pitch, a 1312mm pitch length, 164 teeth on each side and a width of 85mm. It’s made by Optibelt, our premier brand.
It has teeth on both sides, so it can drive pulleys from either face.
STD timing belts have curvilinear, particularly shear-resistant teeth. The tooth geometry and belt structure spread the load evenly and give optimised engagement with STD (S-profile) pulleys.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked DS8M-1312-85 (or 1312 DS8M 85). 1312 is the pitch length in mm and 85 the width in mm.
- If the marking has worn off, count the teeth on one side: this belt has 164. Multiply by 8mm to get the pitch length.
- S-profile (STD) belts have a different tooth shape from HTD (M) belts and need S-profile pulleys.
