Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

The Optibelt RBK 5PK985 is an EPDM automotive ribbed (Poly-V) belt with 5 ribs at a 3.56mm rib pitch, an effective length of 985mm and an overall width of about 17.8mm.
It drives the auxiliary units on car and van engines: alternator, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump and water pump. Optibelt RBK belts are dimensionally stable, damp vibration and suit modern engines with small pulleys and tight layouts. Optibelt is our premier brand.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked 5PK985 (or 5 PK 985). 5 is the number of ribs, PK the profile and 985 the effective length in mm.
- Count the ribs on the underside of the old belt: this one has 5. The second picture shows how to count them.
- Elastic belts have an E in the part number (EPK). Only replace an EPK belt with another EPK belt.
