Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

XDV48/500 Megadyne XDV2 Garden Belt
The Megadyne XDV2 XDV48/500 is a 4L section lawn and garden V-belt with a 50″ (1270mm) outside length. It’s the equivalent of a 4L500. It’s made by Megadyne as part of its XDV2 range.
Megadyne XDV2 belts are built for maintenance-free running in hard working conditions. The aramid cords absorb shock loads and keep the length constant, and the CR rubber body resists heat, oil and weather. They suit clutching drives and small pulleys, are static conductive, and work from −20 to +80°C.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked XDV48/500. It may also be listed as 4L500. On garden belts the number is the outside length in tenths of an inch, so 4L500 is 50″ round the outside.
- If the markings have worn off, measure round the outside of the belt with a tape (a worn belt may measure slightly long), or call us with your machine model or the maker’s part number.
- Garden belts are often listed by the machine maker’s part number. We can cross-reference it for you.
