Measuring Your Belt
Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

The Dunlop AX25 is an AX section cogged raw-edge V-belt, 13mm wide with a 25″ (635mm) inside length. It fits the same pulleys as a classical A section belt, and is a good-value replacement for motors, pumps, fans, compressors and agricultural machinery.
Dunlop cogged belts have raw-edge sides and moulded cogs on the underside. The cogs make them more flexible than a wrapped belt, so they run on smaller pulleys and stay cooler, and the raw edges grip well even at lower tension, which saves energy. They resist heat and oil, and are antistatic to ISO 1813.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked AX25. The letters are the section and the number is the inside length in inches. Measure 13mm across the top and 8mm deep.
- If the markings have worn off, wrap a piece of string round the inside of the belt, mark it and measure the string. It should come to about 635mm.
- A Dunlop AX25 can replace a wrapped A25 belt of the same length. On multi-belt drives, change the whole set.
- If your belt isn’t 13mm wide, see our BX and CX cogged belts.
Not quite the right length? The nearest sizes are AX24 and AX26, or see all AX cogged belts. Not sure? Call 020 8138 2848 and we’ll help you find the right belt.
