Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

DT5-900-8 Optibelt Alpha Torque Polyurethane Double-Sided Timing Belt
The Optibelt Alpha Torque DT5-900-8 is a double-sided T5 polyurethane timing belt with a 5mm pitch, a 900mm pitch length, 180 teeth on each side and a width of 8mm. It’s made by Optibelt, our premier brand.
It has teeth on both sides, so it can drive pulleys from either face.
Optibelt Alpha Torque is Optibelt’s standard polyurethane timing belt range for reliable, accurate synchronous drives. Polyurethane timing belts have a wear-resistant thermoplastic polyurethane body with steel tension cords, so they hold their length, keep exact timing with no slip, need no lubrication and resist oil, grease and abrasion.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked DT5-900-8 (or DT5 900 8); Dunlop/Medway mark double-sided belts T5-900-8 DD. 900 is the pitch length in mm and 8 the width in mm.
- If the marking has worn off, count the teeth: this belt has 180. Multiply by 5mm to get the pitch length.
- It runs on T5 pulleys. T5 and AT5 are not interchangeable.
