Measuring Your Belt
Check the markings first. Most belts have their size printed on the back, for example A24, SPZ1000 or 8PK1200. Type that code into the search bar to find the exact match.
Markings worn off? Measure across the top of the belt for the width, and its depth. For the length, wrap a piece of string round the belt, mark where it meets, then lay the string flat and measure it.
Timing or ribbed belt? Count the teeth or ribs, and measure the gap between them.

The Optibelt RB 8PL1150 is a PL-profile ribbed (Poly-V) belt with 8 ribs at a 4.7mm rib pitch, an effective length of 1150mm (45.3″) and an overall width of about 37.6mm.
Optibelt RB ribbed belts have V-shaped ribs made from a wear-resistant, fibre-reinforced rubber compound, with a high-strength tension cord bonded across the full width. They run quietly, resist oil and heat, and give a long service life. Optibelt is our premier brand.

Check it’s the right belt
- The old belt should be marked 8PL1150 (or 8 PL 1150, or 8L1150). 8 is the number of ribs, PL the profile and 1150 the effective length in mm.
- Count the ribs across the underside of the old belt: this one has 8. The second picture shows how to count them.
- Check the rib pitch: PL ribs are 4.7mm apart. A belt with the wrong profile won’t seat in the pulley grooves.
